INSTRUCTOR SCHOOL INFORMATION
ABOUT FARA'S INSTRUCTOR TRAINING SCHOOL
Welcome to the next level of high-performance driver education! At FARA, we are committed to elevating the HPDE experience by ensuring our instructors are highly skilled, knowledgeable, and safety-focused.
MSF Level 2 Certification is required for all FARA instructors. This ensures a higher-quality learning environment while recognizing the dedication of our instructor team.
Achieving MSF Level 2 Certification is not just a requirement for FARA—it’s a nationally recognized credential that allows you to instruct with any club in the U.S. It’s a distinction that tells organizations you have what it takes to be a professional instructor. Whether you're a new instructor candidate or a seasoned mentor, FARA provides a structured path to MSF Level 2 certification through our Instructor Training School.
WHY MSF LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATION?
The Motorsport Safety Foundation (MSF) CERTIFIED program sets the industry standard for HPDE instructors. By earning your Level 2 Certification, you demonstrate:
✔ Nationally recognized credential. Allows you to instruct with ANY organization!
✔ Commitment to safety and professionalism
✔ Adherence to best practices in driver education
For FARA, this certification is mandatory to maintain a consistent and safe experience for every student while strengthening our instructor community.

REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTRUCTOR SCHOOL PARTICIPANTS
FARA’s MSF Level 2 Instructor Training School is a certified program designed to develop strong, capable instructors. To complete the certification, candidates must:

✔ Complete the FARA Instructor Training School, including classroom and in-car instruction, which includes six on-track role-playing sessions, where mentors will drive the instructor candidates' cars.

TRAINING CURRICULUM HIGHLIGHTS
This program goes beyond teaching the racing line—it focuses on the art and science of coaching. Key areas include:
✔ Effective Teaching & Coaching Strategies – Learn how to tailor instruction to different students
✔ Pre-Track Interviews & Safety Checks – Set student goals, assess their experience, and reinforce safety
✔ In-Car Role Playing – Practice coaching real-world student scenarios (Timid Tim, Stubborn Steve, Crazy Carl) while mentors drive your car
✔ Correcting Driving Errors – Identify and fix common mistakes with clear, concise feedback
✔ Post-Session Debriefs – Conduct structured discussions to reinforce learning and improvement

FAST-TRACK CERTIFICATION FOR SENIOR INSTRUCTORS
Experienced instructors with 75+ track days, 30+ days instructed, and who hold MSF Level 1 Certification can earn their MSF Level 2 Certification by volunteering as a mentor in the Instructor Training School.
As a Mentor, you will:
✔ Play different student roles to challenge instructor candidates
✔ Evaluate and provide constructive feedback
✔ Drive the instructor candidates' cars during the six on-track role-playing sessions
✔ Share best practices and help develop the next generation of FARA instructors
