Why FARA’s Super Lap Series is a Great Fit for PCA Members

by Mark Schnoerr – Visiting Instructor from Texas
When it turned out I would be in South Florida the weekend before Thanksgiving, my brother, David, spoke with the FARA Leadership Team about a Guest Instructor opportunity. Having instructed all over the US and Canada with credentials from PCA, BMWCCA, MSF, and coaching it was an easy decision. This looked like a fun event to attend, let alone participate in as an instructor. David even let me drive his F80 M3 in the Advanced/Instructor group as long as I did not wear out his tires!
Saturday started early with Race, SLS(TT) and HPDE reving up at the same time. Very exciting! My novice student, Frank Bologna, brought his C8 Corvette Z51. He had been on track in a Hellcat years ago, so we got right to it. In three sessions Saturday, he worked up to paddle shifting, nannies one level below full race, and running with the fast cars in the Run Group. His Sunday Coach needed to work on line consistency and tidying up a bit, and I hope they were happy with what I handed off.
FARA events are run very well, on time and a good value for participants. Your SLS program is off to a great start and the 2025 edits look good. Makes me want to bring my E36 M3 to Sebring again. The FARA 2025 schedule is up and I am waiting for our local events to be finalized soon to see when I can get back to Florida.
